      Beekman traveled to Marlboro for a District Semifinal match-up, and ran into a very tough opponent, but Beekman was able to pull off a last-minute rally to win the game in the bottom of the 6th inning on a hard hit single by Sam Irwin. Great defensive plays were made by Paul Andrews and Camden Jackson to keep the score tied going into the last inning.       Marlboro scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth to break open a 3-1 game en route to a 9-2 victory over New Paltz Thursday at Marlboro’s Young’s Field. With one out in the fourth, Avery Albright, Eric Grzechowski, Michael Greco and Christian Diorio posted successive singles and ultimately crossed the plate. Trevor Taylor’s two-out double plated Diorio for a 7-1 Marlboro lead. Taylor stole third base and scored on an overthrow for the inning’s final run. Greco was 3-for-3 to pace Marlboro to its first win of pool play. Diorio and Taylor finished with two hits each. Taylor, Eric Borchert (1-for-2) and Albright scored two runs apiece. Michael Paolo struck out six and gave up just two hits in three innings of shutout work on the mound. Diorio hurled the game’s final three innings. Aiden Hoffman and Luke Aube notched two hits each for New Paltz. Mateo Gutierrez (three innings, seven strikeouts, two runs), Sammy Marshall (one inning, two strikeouts, five runs allowed), and Aube (one inning, one run) pitched for New Paltz. Aube and Sam Stenberg scored New Paltz’s runs.

      Great defensive game played by both teams. Game saving catches were made by Nick Micocci and Paul Andrews in the Beekman Outfield. Paul Andrews came through with a big 2-out, 2-RBI hit in the first inning, followed by another clutch 2-out RBI-hit by Ricky Wagner. Gary Magner struck out 7 in 5 IP on his way to picking up his first Win. Christian Arnfield picked up the save by striking out 2 in the bottom of the 6th inning. W0ell played game!
