New player to the league ? Players who did NOT play in our Spring 2015 season must provide copy of birth certificate and proof of residency.

Playing Up ? If you would like to have your child "play up" a division (e.g., 10 year old playing in Majors) you may request this by contacting us at Register for the age appropriate division, and we will have evaluations in March to determine if players are ready to play up.

1) 6 year olds can select Tball if desired. If he/she hasn't played Tball before, one year of Tball is recomended.
2) 7 year olds can select A or AA. If he/she played A last season and did well, we recommend playing AA.

Welcome to the

Poughkeepsie Babe Ruth - Cal Ripken Baseball

Online Registration!

Fees are the same as last season. The Family Involvement Fee is now $60 (Spring Only).

Family Involvement Fee: This fee helps to cover the league's expenses. The league is run by volunteers. In the past we have found that some families do not always have time to volunteer and would prefer to pay a fee. If you do have time to volunteer there will be numerous opportunities to 'work' off the fee.  The fee will be credited to your account for the next season.

For help with registration check Online Registration Help

Our league is open to all residents of Town of Poughkeepsie as well as towns that don't have a closer Cal Ripken / Babe Ruth league (e.g., Wappingers Falls, Hyde Park, Pleasant Valley, New Hamburg).  The other local Cal Ripken / Babe Ruth leagues are Beacon, Beekman,  City of Poughkeepsie, East Fishkill, Highland, Highland Falls, Kent, Marlboro, Orange County and New Paltz.

In order to get the multiple registration discount ($25/child after the first) you must register all children in the same transaction.  Contact us if you need to do separate transactions and we can add the discount.

Note : there is a Family Involvement Fee this year ($60 per family).  A portion (or all) of this fee can be credited back to your account if you volunteer to help out in running the league (e.g., concessions, fields).

Contact us at for more information.

Our league is comprised of players ages 4-18 who live predominantly in the Town of Poughkeepsie.  We typically have 400 players in the Tball (4-5), Rookie (6-8), Minor (9-10) , Major (11-12), Babe Ruth (13-15), and Senior Babe Ruth (16-18) divisions.  Eastern New York State is organized into 4 Districts - South District, Central District, North District and the West District. We are part of the South District which includes teams from Beacon, Beekman, East Fishkill, Highland Falls, Kent, Marlboro, Orange County and New Paltz.

The spring season usually starts with Opening Day on the 3rd Saturday of April, and continues through June 30. For most of the divisions, shortly after June 15th, All Star tournament teams are formed to play against other leagues in our District. Depending on how successful each team is, they could continue to play through July into August. Our fall season starts in mid-August for players 8-15 years of age. New teams are formed, with greater emphasis on instruction and learning. Games are played until the end of October.
